If you are interested in understanding the role of marketing in your organisation, if you are on the front-line with a direct link to the customer or if you are interested in a career in sales and marketing, then the Certificate in Marketing is the programme for you.

 

 

Programme Aims:

To equip students with an essential understanding of marketing principles

To develop transferable marketing skills useful to any business

To explore the principles and practices of management

To understand the importance of selling and to explore core selling techniques

 

 

Programme Structure:

The programme is structured to run during the Tipperary Institute academic year (September to April inclusive).

The programme is offered on a part-time basis running one night per week.

Examinations will take place at the end of each semester

 

 

Entry requirements:
There are no specific entry requirements. Selection for the programme will be by written application.

Module Descriptors

 

 Semester 1

Marketing Principles 1

This module fosters knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles of marketing and provides an understanding of the role of marketing in modern business.

Management Principles

This module introduces students to the nature of the business organisation and provides an appreciation of the concepts, principles and practices of management.  It will also provide students with an opportunity to develop core skills required to plan, organise, lead and control.

 

 Semester 2

Marketing Principles 2

This module introduces students to the skills and techniques used in the management of the marketing function and enables students to identify practical solutions to marketing problems.  Students will gain different perspectives on marketing management including international marketing and services marketing.

Selling and Sales Management

This module provides students with an understanding of sales techniques and methods as they may apply to various business environments. It introduces sales management concepts as a means of implementing sales strategies.  Finally it will help develop essential selling skills.

 

 

Award:
On successful completion of the programme, Tipperary Institute will award students a Certificate in Marketing.  This programme is offered at NQF (National Qualifications Framework) Level 6 and carries 20 ECTS credits and may entitle you to exemptions from equivalent subjects on the Higher Certificate in Business at Tipperary Institute or other accredited academic programmes.  Completion of this programme ensures participants are equipped with the ability, knowledge and skills transferable immediately and effectively in a business environment.
